To improve the quality of life for children with life-limiting illnesses living in financially disadvantaged families throughout the UK. To provide families with the specialist care or equipment that will enhance their child's life, following recommendations from medical professionals who have identified specific needs. To respond with practical and sensitive support within days, if not hours - when a child's life is short, an immediate response is vital. To support those families who are unlikely to receive the assistance they need from any other source in sufficient time. To provide assistance throughout a child's lifetime - many life-limiting illnesses are degenerative and a child's needs may change constantly and to eliminate red tape and bureaucracy, allowing aid to be given quickly and without fuss, keeping administrative costs to an absolute minimum.

Outdoor Signage for an Eco-tourism location

Dec 31, 2016

We are looking to encourage tourists at a beach resort in Paraguay to take advantage of the amazing nature around them. We hope that by providing access to nature for city dwellers, they will learn to appreciate, and eventually want to take care of their natural resources. This strategy has been shown to lead to long term change in how people view conservation and how they contribute. The reserve where we work boasts five trails, each named after an animal or plant commonly seen on the trail. We're looking to create a set of visually appealing signs that will make people want to take walks through the reserve, as well as some signage to mark interesting landmarks on the way. We have access to wood, paints, metal, plastic, and almost anything else you could make a sign out of. We are also looking at ways to use recycled materials to demonstrate sustainable development, and we have access to infinite quantities of eukalyptus. If you are intrerested in helping, please contact me by emailing karina@paralatierra.orgThanks!
