Paws & Pause is a Dog day care service, providing an employment training programme for people in recovery from mental health and substance use. Paws & Pause believes that animals, and in particular dogs, can be the catalyst to engaging people from all walks of life that need respite for their mental health and recovery from substance misuse. We are passionate about the connection between dogs and the improvement of well-being for all people. We will operate as a social enterprise dog day care service, providing high quality care to our four legged friends. The dog day care facility will then be the basis in providing a therapeutic training and volunteer programme for adults experiencing mental health difficulties and/or addiction. The training programme will provide adults with employability skills and support the trainees into their next steps within the world of work or college.
