Afasic's work is life changing for families with children who have speech, language or communication impairments. And as a small charity they need to have a big voice in order for their potential beneficiaries to find them and to keep raising the funds needed to provide for their support.

To promote their 'Every Voice Counts' campaign to celebrate the charity's 45th anniversary they needed flyers and invitations to distribute to their members, schools and speech and language professionals. Nichola Page, Corporate and Events Coordinator for Afasic, found the Pimp My Cause community by searching for volunteers online. And after signing up she contacted Ashley Capewell and Tom Buswell asking for design support.

Ashley and Tom were both up for using their design talent to support their work. Ashley designed this bright and bold flyer (below), which Afasic is using to inspire school groups to get involved and use their own creativity to create unique fundraising activities.

Tom has created this helpful invitation page (below) for the Afasic website to allow the inspired groups to register their 'Every Voice Counts' events.

These designs are helping Afasic to communicate opportunities to raise funds for the charity and also helping to make more people aware of the issues of speech, language and communication impairments. Projects like this are a great way for talented young designers like Ashley and Tom to make far more of a difference than they would be able to through financial contributions, and build their portfolio of completed client work in the process.

Through the Afasic online parents' forum and helpline they make sure that children and young people, and their families, living with SLCI have access to the right support at the right time. They provide information for parents on how to recognize impairments, how to help their children with language difficulties, their legal rights to testing and support and the steps to take to get what is needed to support their child.

If you feel inspired to help Afasic with your marketing talent, they are currently looking for help using social media to connect with their beneficiaries and supporters and in getting media coverage for their 45th anniversary activities.
