Urlings Cricket Club is a village cricket club in Antigua that has fantastic spirit, great youth talent and coaches with a wealth of experience. What they don’t have are the basic facilities to nurture this natural talent through from the grass roots to the national level.

Kat Byles, from Bath, was inspired by the Urlings club and she is working to raise the £2,500 needed to provide them with their own club house, which will help take the club’s ambition to the next level. Kat witnessed the club's involvement in cricket at the grass roots level and is keen to help them develop.

Kat signed up to Pimp My Cause to get support with creating an emblem for the Urlings CC. And painter and digital designer, George Williams, immediately responded to her request for help.

Kat said, “We are super happy to unveil the new club emblem for Urlings CC created by George Williams as his very generous gift to the club. We think it’s brilliant!

“Urlings is a fishing village famous for the conch shell and the cricket ground overlooks turquoise Caribbean Sea. George has done a brilliant job capturing this in the club emblem. We can't wait to see it put to work in the 2016 cricket season.

“George has been wonderful to work with from start to finish. Super professional, creative – we highly recommend him.”

Kat’s campaign to raise funds for a club house has been supported by fast bowler Air Andy Roberts, who went on to play for Hampshire County CC and Leicestershire County CC.

Andy said, "There's great local cricket talent in Urlings and surrounding villages. A club house will provide the much needed facilities, pride and focus to bring this talent through to the club at national level in Antigua and Barbuda."

Kat said, "I've been lucky to be a part of grass roots sports around the world for many years and Urlings CC has the magic.

"The younger children are the first to arrive and last to leave and practice non-stop often with no shoes, no pads, just raw talent. They have cricket in their hearts. We want more of this wonderful spirit on the global sporting stage."

The new club house will provide home and away changing rooms, toilets, a bar which will also generate consistent revenue for the club, a meeting room, trophy cabinet and storage space.

It will also include an outside deck seating area that will blend into the shade of a giant Tamarind tree.
