Fresh Designs Help Community Centre Reach New Users News Post Image

Aston-Mansfield is a charity at the heart of the Newham community, providing services that support over 2,000 people annually. Their programmes focus on bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to tackle poverty and deprivation and to enrich people’s lives.

Jennifer Millman, who is in charge of marketing at Aston-Mansfield, signed them up to Pimp My Cause in January to look for support with creating a new promotional flyer.

Through Pimp My Cause they connected with Paige-Violet Wilson-McPhillips a graphic design graduate who was looking to gain more experience and build up her portfolio.

Paige-Violet was able to redesign their outdated flyer to improve the look and help them to produce something that clearly reflected their work. The new flyer uses testimonials to entice new potential service users to find out more and get involved.

Aston-Mansfield has printed 5,000 copies of the new flyer and  are distributing them in the local community to raise awareness of the great work they are doing and the many exciting services that are available such as informal learning opportunities for disadvantaged children, arts and dance classes and social and learning activities for the over 50’s.

Paige-Violet said, “Aston-Mansfield is an organisation close to my heart, being the type of community centre that I spent most of my youth attending while growing up in London. Producing their A5 leaflet was a pleasure and I am happy that they now have a new and updated leaflet”.

Jennifer said, “Paige-Violet was a pleasure to work with. Throughout the project, she kept in constant communication with us, always taking on board feedback and coming back promptly with alterations. She listened to our comments and remained patient throughout the process – even when we were the ones being indecisive! Overall, we are happy with our new flyer and glad to have something up-to-date for our organistion”.

Paige-Violet is also supporting several other great projects through Pimp My Cause and we look forward to sharing more of her work soon.
