Global Sharing Day What are you sharing News Post Image

November 14th is Global Sharing Day, with Greatest Share on Earth events held in many locations around the world. As a partner organisation to this great occasion we are pulling together stories of Pimp My Cause marketers sharing their time and expertise that have for various reasons so far gone uncelebrated.

For example, David Smith, partner at the very talented agency 49th Floor, designed a much needed information folder for a new product being launched by MERU, a children's disability charity. MERU's new product, the AirChair, allows physically disabled children to sit in airplane seats. And David's design work was an important contribution to the charity’s activities. We would normally create a feature story of this great work, but because our charity contact changed jobs just after this project the story fell through the cracks.

Another great charity design project was the new logo designed by Mike Le Lacheur for EARS (European Alliance of Rescue Centres). EARS works to uphold the highest standards of animal sanctuaries across Europe and they greatly appreciated the time and attention Mike and his team put into designing their new logo.

Transformational Media Summit had a very helpful planning meeting with marketing member Yasmina Baileche, just before their successful event in September bringing together global pioneers around the topic of how media can contribute to a more positive and peaceful world.

Avert, the global HIV and AIDS education and treatment charity, enjoyed working with marketing member Daniel Griffin to create a new questionnaire to get relevant feedback from their web users.

These examples illustrate the kinds of contributions that dozens of our marketing members are making all the time and they often make much more of a difference to our causes than the marketers realise. And so to recognise these very important and useful marketing interventions we say 'Thank you and keep sharing!'

We don’t believe in hiding sharing under a bushel. If you would like to be a part of Global Sharing Day you can contribute a short video clip of the marketing expertise you are sharing and if you are in the south of England you can participate in a Greatest Share on Earth flashmob event. The People Who Share will be collecting all videos that are shared on social media using the #sharingeconomy and #globalsharingday tags in a video montage of Global Sharing Day moments captured on film. We’ll also look forward to promoting your experiences for all to enjoy.
