Graphic Design to Showcase Community Action News Post Image

Holborn Community Association works to provide the citizens of Holborn with services that support improved health, happiness and employability and help families build a better future for themselves. They run three community centres and offer a variety of programmes within each centre. This includes a full range of classes and clubs for all ages including a gardening club, a toddler drop in centre and art, dance and martial arts classes.

Like many of our causes they have huge ambitions to fulfil with limited resources and they had no budget to cover the cost of a graphic designer. They came across Pimp My Cause on Twitter and signed up to connect with marketing volunteers. Naomi Urch quickly responded to their help wanted ad and offered to help design their annual report.

Naomi got to work creating an attractive and easily understood report to inspire donors and supporters. Holborn Community Association was very pleased to follow her advice and delighted to work with her on implementing her design.

Annual report created by marketing volunteers

The Holborn Community Association’s annual report is particularly important because they have ambitious fundraising goals for the coming year and now is a crucial moment to put their best foot forward and showcase their accomplishments.

In addition to fundraising appeals for their arts centre and services for the elderly, they are branching out and creating a social venture to help fund their community activities.

School for Social Entrepreneurs London and Lloyds Bank have given them a small grant to develop their new Community Cooks catering social enterprise. The new venture officially launches in January 2014, but they have been doing trial runs at festivals and local markets to build up their business skills. In addition to a catering service, Community Cooks will offer enterprise and hospitality training and will partner with local supermarkets to build routes into work.

Community Cooks social enterprise in need of pro bono branding

Naomi’s support has helped Holborn Community Association produce the annual report they desired. And it has inspired them to want to work with other Pimp My Cause marketers. So if you would like to help Holborn Community Association develop the branding and marketing for their new social enterprise or support them in reviewing their website and digital marketing, please get in touch.
