Through Pimp My Cause, marketers are given the opportunity to change the lives of people in their own postcode or right across the other side of the world.

Theo and Sotiria Vargemezi, a husband and wife design and web development team based in the UK joined Pimp My Cause in April looking to take on meaningful projects and use their professional skills to support good causes. They very quickly got involved with several projects and the first one they have completed is creating a new logo for Club Kids 414 to support them in making the transition to a substantially greater scale of impact.

Club Kids is a 20 year old non-profit that works hard to empower and support the children and teenagers of Milwaukee. They have been running successful programmes and events for many years giving socially disadvantaged children of all ages a safe and fun alternative to hanging out on the streets.

They have always used borrowed venues from partner organisations but they are now looking for the funding to get their own venue both to provide a dedicated home to their current programmes and to open new opportunities for expanding their offerings. This means they will need to appeal to corporate supporters and reach a wider audience and for that they felt their branding needed to be given a professional makeover so they joined Pimp My Cause to seek some pro bono marketing support.

They were soon contacted by Sotiria, a talented graphic designer, who offered to support their rebranding work alongside her husband, Theo, an experienced web developer. Club Kids founder Marcus Duke said, “Sotiria and Theo were a pleasure to work with. She created the designs and gave us many options to choose from. She didn’t hesitate to make modifications where needed and Theo converted the final designs into the different file formats we needed for printing and use on our website.”

Club Kids are excited to have Sotiria and Theo’s support and feel their new logo will help them in their mission to offer disadvantaged kids even more of the skills they need to succeed.

Their goal is to keep children and teenagers out of trouble, off the streets, out of gangs, and out of jail by offering them creative activities in a controlled environment and introducing them to new experiences through art, sports, recreation and entertainment.

Marcus said, “We aim to help as many as a thousand kids per month with our programs like the recording studio, computer lab, and study center. The kids not only learn but are entertained; we know that kids, just like the adults need opportunities for quality recreation that can help them to build positive lives. We also know there is a void in this city when it comes to entertainment for kids, most of the venues, like bowling lanes, movie theaters, arcades, and clubs have closed down and the ones that are open are for profit, and the kids can’t afford to attend.”

If you would like to support the work of Club Kids at this time of growth and ambition by helping to develop their media and corporate engagement strategies please send us an email.

And look out for more design and web development projects from Sotiria and Theo coming soon.
