Marketers Multiply the Impacts of Great Causes News Post Image

We love to share the stories of how our marketers are helping our causes, but we know that for many reasons too many of these stories fall through the cracks, so here is a roundup of a few stories that we missed first time around…

Business Strategy Review to Support Manchester’s Disadvantaged

Strategic marketer Clare Crowther connected with Manchester Young Lives (MYL) through Pimp My Cause and Business in the Community. MYL has been supporting children and young people from disadvantaged areas of Manchester for over 30 years through adventure playgrounds, independent schools and youth groups.

Like many of our causes MYL needed to diversify their funding sources to compensate for the decrease in public funding available. So Clare helped them review their overall marketing and business strategies to identify new funding opportunities.

Clare is also continuing to support Act4Africa and we will share a post soon about how she is helping them implement the marketing campaigns and ideas that they developed in their earlier work together.

Art Exhibit Engages with Youth Unemployment

Today in the UK, over 1 million 16 to 24 year-olds are unemployed.

A Dangerous Figure was an art installation featured at Somerset House this summer that drew attention to the dangerously high number of unemployed young people in the UK.

Marketing volunteer Heather Nicholls and the artists of The Bite Back Movement reached out to the public to share the stories of young people who are getting left behind by the current economic environment.

The exhibit was created from the participation of thousands of young unemployed people. They filled in an online application which then took their statistics, photos and emotions and converted them into a sculptural representation of the whole group.

“Imagine if all the potential of the young unemployed were channeled into a single powerful entity. A Dangerous Figure is a machine with the ability to unite all young unemployed people in the UK into a single character, a face that represents their combined hopes, fears, frustrations and latent potential.”

Digital Annexe #24hourcharitychallenge raises money for Hackney Pirates

Finding pirate treasure aboard the Golden Hind as part of the #24hourcharitychallenge

#24hourcharitychallenge for Hackney Pirates

The Hackney Pirates take a stand against boredom in challenging educators and young people to make education more fun. They provide one-to-one support in an unconventional learning environment.

Their attitude inspired Digital Annexe to use their company day out as a #24hourcharitychallenge. Their employees were challenged to see who could raise the most money for the Hackney Pirates in 24 hours. Pimp My Cause marketing members Jonathan Denby and Daniel Webb participated in the creative challenge in which marketers offered prizes for donations, set up a virtual rollercoaster at Spitalfields market and searched for treasure aboard the Golden Hind. And throughout their adventures they drew attention to the great work of Hackney Pirates on social media.
