Not for the first time one of our expert interviews has led to some real on the ground “money can’t buy” impacts.

We recently interviewed Richard Hall, the author of “Brilliant Marketing”, which is the most popular marketing book on Amazon.co.uk.

As in all our interviews we asked Richard to choose one of our causes to give specific advice to. Richard chose Petit Miracle Interiors a social enterprise offering accredited Interior Design training to increase the employability of people who are economically inactive, specifically vulnerable women, long term unemployed and those who have experienced homelessness.

We asked Elisicia Moore, Petit Miracle Interiors founder to share with us how she turned Richard's advice into his ongoing support.

"Firstly, I want to say that we were overjoyed that someone chose to help us with our marketing request, never mind the likes of Richard Hall, very lucky indeed!

The feedback from Richard, particularly his three top tips for marketing development were most helpful. When someone who has a proven track record gives you advice, it’s a good idea to stand up and pay attention, as well, to follow up with them to say thank you. And that is exactly what we did. But, we got far more than we were expecting.

Richard said he could do better than that and suggested meeting up to talk about our dreams, goals and our fears.

We have met a few times now and keep in regular contact on email and phone. Richard is incredibly clever and super approachable which makes for good conversation, not to mention, easily enabling me to pick his brain on issues or problems we are facing.

Richard shares our passion that we all deserve to enjoy beauty, regardless of our socio-economic background. In addition to Richard’s advice he has worked hard to tap into his professional network and is aligning meetings with people we would otherwise never have had the chance to meet.

I think that Pimp My Cause is doing far more than perhaps they are aware. The platform to engage charities with professionals has obvious benefits however, the implications these connections can create are innumerable.

We, at Petit Miracle’s, have aspirations to televise our work in a documentary and/or short TV series. Exploring and bringing awareness to people who have experienced homelessness and the effect of good design has on ones well-being.

Richard is helping us to make that dream happen whilst bestowing us with his wisdom. So who knows where this little partnership will take us, but watch this space, because just maybe, we might get this little dream of ours on the telly!”
