Rapid growth poses new challenges for our causes, including how their websites keep up with their changing needs. For FoodCycle these demands have included staying connected with a growing number of volunteers, providing information to inspire new partnerships and presenting compelling reasons why grocery stores and restaurants across the country should join their food waste programme.

Having previously helped FoodCycle raise funds to grow their organisation, Pimp My Cause members at Maverick Digital have now created a whole new website pro bono to enable them to stay connected with their community of supporters, inspire new supporters, and raise awareness and on-going funds for their cause.

FoodCycle runs volunteer-powered community projects across the UK – working to reduce food poverty and social isolation by serving tasty, nutritious meals to vulnerable groups. Their innovative model takes surplus food from grocery stores and restaurants and combines it with local volunteers who collect the food and cook it up into delicious feasts to be enjoyed by groups of people who are in need of a hot meal and good company.

FoodCycle’s new website designed and built by Maverick is now live. Steven Hawkes, Communications and Fundraising Officier at FoodCycle said, “Our new website is very dynamic. It allows for easy management and updating. We are expanding quickly, so it is very important to be able to integrate new content into the site. We are extremely pleased with what Maverick has created for us.”

The new website is easy to navigate and shares information for volunteers to find their local food hub and get involved, it shares upcoming events and fundraising ideas and plenty of facts about the impact that FoodCycle is having on local communities around the UK.

FoodCycle now has 17 food hubs, with their newest additions in Salisbury, Sheffield and Wandsworth.
