On Tuesday night the marketing elite gathered on the rooftop terrace of JWT's elegant offices in Knightsbridge to enjoy The Marketing Society's annual summer party. The headline of the event was their partnership with Pimp My Cause and Media Trust to launch their new Marketing for Good initiative.

At the event Amanda MacKenzie, Stephen Maher, Stephen Sparrow and Ellie Tory shared their thoughts on Marketing for Good.

Marketing Society president and AVIVA CMO Amanda MacKenzie introduced the new initiative and introduced Pimp My Cause founder Paul Skinner to the attendees, encouraging everyone to sign up to contribute their talent to a good cause.

Gemma Greaves, Marketing Director of The Marketing Society explained, "for some time, we've wanted to empower our influential and talented network of marketers to give something back to society. We know it's something they want to do, and we also know that together our marketing expertise can make a genuine difference. As big believers in collaboration, we knew we wanted to team up with some smart organisations to make this happen. So we launched Marketing for Good in partnership with Media Trust and Pimp My Cause. This collaboration offers tangible opportunities for our members to get involved and make a difference."

The Marketing Society will help to raise the profile of some of the work done by marketers for our causes. And the marketing challenges of some of our most promising charities and social enterprises will be featured on The Marketing Society's website to inspire their members to donate their time to a good cause.

Africa on the Ball has been featured by the Society to showcase the work done for them by Maverick Digital and to engage the Society's members in supporting Africa on the Ball's growth, with a prominent link from the Society's homepage. A further cause will be selected each month to offer interesting strategic marketing challenges to The Marketing Society members.

And other Pimp My Cause case studies featured by The Marketing Society already include, the stories of how Maverick Digital helped Foodcycle raise over £120,000 of funding with their animated video and how Ogilvy Change led by Rory Sutherland is supporting our causes with behaviour change challenges.

They have also been encouraging their members to try our Karma Audit to help them assess their marketing careers.

Much more activity is planned so continue to watch this space.
