Pro bono Designs Support Global Tiger Day News Post Image

Tomorrow, July 29th 2014, is Global Tiger Day. So we are highlighting the important issue of the rapidly diminishing wild tiger population by showcasing a pro bono design created by Effie Rivera for 21st Century Tiger.

Effie is a Pimp My Cause graphic designer volunteer based in Canada and she was inspired to support the work of 21St Century Tiger by creating original illustrations featuring tigers to use as posters to provoke thought about the plight of the tiger.

In the last century wild tigers have lost over 93% of their natural habitat and there are now fewer than 3500 left in the wild.

They are rapidly being driven to extinction because of human greed. Poaching is rife and according to Interpol, illegal wildlife crime is on par with arms, drugs and human trafficking in terms of the severity and the revenue raised from it.

21st Century Tiger works hard to raise awareness about the plight of the wild tiger. They act as an intermediary between zoos, the public and tiger conservations projects across Asia. They work with zoos around the world from Ireland to New Zealand, to make sure they are doing all they can for the protection of wild tigers.

The funds raised through 21st Century Tiger go to support the efforts of the best Asian based tiger conservation projects. And 100% of what they raise goes to protect wild tigers.

For Global Tiger Day, 21st Century Tiger has designed posters and facebook covers for zoos around the world to help engage with the public and gain new supporters.
