“95% of African elephants are gone. An elephant is poached every 15 minutes. 100 elephants die every single day. Elephant deaths exceed elephant births. Elephants may be extinct in less than ten years...if we don't stop carving them into trinkets.” So reads an excerpt from the script of Elephant DaZe written by Phyllis Stuart.

Matt Eller, a young freelance designer, read about Pimp My Cause as a fantastic way to build up freelance designers’ portfolios.  So he signed up and got in touch with Phyllis to see how he could use his design talent to support their cause.

Within a week he had not only created their logo, he had also designed a thought provoking poster drawing attention to the link between preserving elephants and our broader environment.

Phyllis said, “Matt created a brilliant logo against a very short deadline and also produced a poster with a really powerful concept. He was upbeat, professional and enthusiastic, a welcome partner in our efforts to save the elephant”.

The Elephant DaZe film created by Enthuse TV will be launching this autumn and will be part of a larger social campaign to change attitudes in China and around the world towards buying ivory. Many of the people who buy ivory products in China think that an elephants’ tusks grow back, so educating them may be the key to breaking the vicious cycle of the demand for ivory trinkets in China driving the illegal killing of elephants in Africa.

Matt was very excited to be able to support this important project and he is also in touch with two other causes, helping them with their brand design and advertising materials. We look forward to seeing more of his work soon.
