What's your wish for the planet this Christmas? News Post Image

Dr. Laura Kehoe, a sustainability scientist at the University of Oxford, signed up to Pimp My Cause in August looking for marketing help with Dear Green Santa, a campaign she created in 2019.

We loved the concept of the campaign, which invites children to write letters to Green Santa (red Santa's older brother) with their Christmas wishes for the planet. And we thought it was a good fit with the headline question of our MarketingKind launch gathering in October 'What if marketing wasn't selfish?', so we invited Laura to come along to share her story and ask marketers to get involved.

As a result of our launch gathering Laura has connected with a fantastic group of marketers, who've been helping her to create the digital Green Santa experience for Christmas 2020. She has been working with MarketingKind members, Pimp My Cause volunteers, friends and friends of friends to develop a marketing strategy, create a new logo and website, write a schools' pack, man (or woman in this case) the social media channels from now until Christmas, write and send out a press release, create a campaign video and develop ideas for next year.

Laura's incredible group of marketing elves includes Lauren Cooper, JiaJia Smith, Una Beck Johnson, Faiz Kermani, Lisa Basford, Jasmine Lenthall, Mandy Bobrowski and Nick Wake.

The campaign is aimed at engaging children to share their wishes for the planet, but it is also open to people of all ages who would like to write letters to Green Santa, share their drawings and encourage others to do the same. You can post and share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn.

There's lots more you can explore on the new Dear Green Santa website including Green Santa's backstorythe gallery of children's letters and the downloadable schools pack.
