Zabisco offers charities pro bono "digital boot camp"

The user experience agency Zabisco is teaming up with Pimp My Cause to offer pro bono "digital boot camp", an innovative format designed to bring all the expertise of a top agency to bear on coaching a charity though four weeks of online marketing that can take their reach and engagement to a new level. They’ll be adding a "reality" element to the boot camp by tracking progress closely through social media and essentially letting other charities look over their shoulders and apply the same insights for themselves.

The first cause to participate in the programme will be Medair.  Medair is an international emergency relief agency. Whilst they enjoy a great reputation within their sector, Ben Paine from Medair UK talks about the challenge they face in raising their profile: “we work with the most vulnerable people on earth – who are often in extremely difficult-to-reach and dangerous places, so we don’t see a lot of passing journalists. To bring life-saving care to 50 million people by 2025, we need to make the most of social media and other channels to engage new supporters. The potential to connect people in the UK and elsewhere with the realities on the ground is massive”.

Fran McVeigh(pictured at the top of the page) from Zabisco  said, “It’s a great concept which gives charities something they can start on right away and achieve some ‘early wins’ as well as building towards longer-term results. It’s an exciting project, and the Zabisco team is looking forward to working on it. I hope that other causes can take a lot from the project too, and it’s something we are looking to repeat with other charities”.
