Mission

Fix Me recycles, repurposes and revamps salvaged furniture and objet d'art as a means to educate, train and potentially employ marginalised people from the local area. The aim of Fix Me is to create a supportive environment where vulnerable adults and young people can learn the ethics of work in a creative and expressive fashion.

Additional Information

Fix Me Arts Project is a start-up project assisting local marginalised and vulnerable adults in learning practical and artistic skills in furniture up-cycling, offering the opportunity to learn, discover and develop their creative ideas. The added 'green' side-effect of this project is to use (re-use) donated furniture/objet d'art or items destined for landfil, this will help reinforce sustainability and a respect for unloved items - this meaning can transer to the human condition, and so in learning new skills, new confidence can be found, as well as a sense of purpose and belonging.  As the founder of Fix Me, I myself found that due to poor mental health became 'difficult to employ' and as a result of my own creative skills decided that if I needed such a project, then there must be others like me out there too!
