Mission

We believe influential and connected women with bold solutions to social and environmental issues, can create sustainable opportunities to make the world a better place.Investing in women is smart economics, we want to amplify this movement. Our mission: We harness women's skills to create robust social businesses, projects, and networks, that create a positive social and environmental impact. Together with the network members, we are building trading and learning platforms to break through mainstream supply-chains.Why it is important? By taking women out of the shadows, equipping them and connecting them to influential stakeholders, we grow the pool of entrepreneurial opportunities, we boost local and global welfare, and we help them to have a positive social impact on their wider networks. Our customers: The women we work with are activists, social entrepreneurs, members of campaigning organisations, sme's or larger organisations, who, by their activities, are, or can become, influential social leaders, provide practical solutions to social and environmental needs, and change many people’s lives for the better. We call these women Social Innovators. So far we have worked with over 2500 of them.

Additional Information

Ogunte is a Social Innovations Development company focused on women-led social ventures. WHY WE DO THIS? To grow a futurecentric economy that is kind to people and planet, we need to tap in women's contribution to accelerate change. They have talent, wisdom and local knowledge that we cannot afford to waste and push off in the corner. Our mission is to support thousands of these women globally to accelerate change. One way we do this is to organise Women’s Social Leadership Awards. Started in 2007, they aim to make women who make a social and environmental impact, more visible, more credible, more mainstream. Winners and Finalists get mentoring and coaching, media opportunities and business leads. This year's Awards will be taking place in Central London on June 10th, 2013.
