Mission

My mission is to teach psychology in marginalised communities, especially to children and young people to improve their mental health resilience; increase their life chance and reduce the likelihood that they will become victims or perpetrators of violence.Stronger Minds was a project funded by Health Education England in 2017 to develop a learning resources and train peer facilitators to deliver the project activities. These resources are available for free via my website.

Additional Information

From 2017 to 2019 I was successful in securing annual grants to develop this project in partnership with the Lambeth Voluntary Sector. In 2019 we delivered a project in Alford House Youth Club that targetted boys and young men. This project developed new resources to develop critical thinking as an antidote to social media posts promoting violence and new ways of managing emotions focussed on the young men's experiences of violence and bereavement. We also produced some podcasts. Unfortunately the dimension of our grant that was dedicated to learning resources was cut as the home office (our funders) considered this material was promotional. We tried to secure further funding for the face to face work and to develop the reources which are crucial in an area where there is so much violence, but were unsuccessful. I am continuing to work on the material.
