Exciting opportunity for a graphic designer to develop logo and look and feel for an East African NGO

Description

Kat·a·pult ( kăt′ə-pŭlt′, -po͝olt′)v. Launching or advancing to a better positionKil·i·man·ja·ro  (kĭl′ə-mən-jär′ō)n. The highest mountain in Africa, in northeast Tanzania near the Kenya border, rising in two snow-capped peaks to 5,898.7 m (19,340 ft).See our full profile here. What’s requiredLogoColour paletteBackground for website (sorry no dimensions for this yet) Background and brief“By 2050, Africa’s population will double to two billion, and is set to double again to four billion by 2100. By the end of the century, there will be 11 billion people on earth, with four billion of that in Africa.” (Hans Rosling, Global Health Professor)In the next 50 years Africa is set to witness rapid development and change. As an organisation, we are positioned to support delivery of development projects to alleviate poverty in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania, where local organisations require funds and expertise to address local issues. However, our brand would benefit from occupying more of the progressive space reflective of Africa’s future, meaning: Less about stigmatised people and despairMore about positivity and hopeMore 'corporate' feelOur brand is also required to appease the interest of both the western public (for fundraising) and trusts and foundations (for grants and funding). We have drafted a design brief as a document for those interested to set the context, but fear not, we want the designer to have ownership of this project. Unfortunately, resources mean that this can be only offered as a pro bono opportunity, where we hope it can bring value to a creative's portfolio. Please contact Rupert at ruperthbarry@gmail.com for more info.
