Additional Information

We are pioneering a new, visual model of online fundraising to empower people to help protect rainforest in a simple, affordable and creative way. We support local forestry communities on the ground by promoting sustainable development and environmental awareness.  Deforestation accounts for one fifth of global carbon emissions responsible for climate change; the single biggest threat facing our lives and our children’s future. The bloomtrigger project aims to raise £100M to protect 1 million hectares of the most biodiverse rainforest on the planet. This project began with a ‘pilot’ phase in 5 primary schools in the UK, raising £5,000, which will help to protect 50 hectares of rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon. We enable individuals, businesses and primary school children to help protect their own part of the rainforest. We sell a virtual currency called 'blooms', one bloom cost 50 pence and will help to protect approximately 50m2 of rainforest in Peru (1 bloom = 50p = 50m2). People can plant their 'blooms' on our map to help protect rainforest and their profile image appears on the forest they are protecting.
