 St Peter’s Partnerships (SPP) is a community anchor organisationestablished by a group of St Peter’s ward residents in 1998 prior to forming as a registered charity in 2003. It brings people together to promote a range of community-led initiatives, which tackle the underlying long-term difficulties facing this regeneration area. The organisation is made up of both charity and trading operations. The charity arm delivers a range of services within the ward including volunteering opportunities and youth & community outreach work, developed through consultation and active participation with residents. The trading arm comprises of 3 not-for-profit community enterprises which operate across Tameside and beyond: Greenscape, a landscape & gardening business; Safeguard It delivering safety & security services; Enterprise Plus specialising in Information, Advice & Guidance, employment & training. All deliver specialised work experience opportunities, skills training and workshops through our “grow our own” Community Workforce model where we provide step–up jobs for local people enabling them to move, with support, from “benefit trapped” to economic well being. Over the last 5 years our employment and learning services have developed into a holistic programme of support tailored to meet individual need.  Our customer base is made up of those hardest to reach, including those on incapacity and disability benefits, drug and alcohol mis-users. Through this delivery framework we provide flexible, needs based wrap around support that helps to build esteem, resilience and the aspirations in both individuals and their families. We focus on developing more cohesive, healthier and prosperous communities by supporting individuals to realise their economic potential, which enables them to become more actively engaged with their local community.
