Additional Information

We are the UK's only open membership organisation devoted solely to providing nationwide opportunities for people of all ages to learn about, discuss and challenge the science and their implications. Established in 1831, the British Science Association organises major initiatives including the annual British Science Festival, National Science & Engineering Week, an extensive programme for young people in schools and colleges, professional development opportunities for scientists and regional and local events. The Association is a registered charity and our work depends on funding provided by donations, grants and sponsorship. The Regions and Branches Programme works with 370 volunteers to spread the Association's key messages across the UK and directly into the community. Our volunteer-led Branches produce a diverse range of events and activities that engage with around 30,000 people annually. Our audiences are varied with hands-on events for families, and discussions and talks in a range of different venues.
