Mission

There are 40 developmental assets that all young people need to grow up physically and emotionally healthy and prepared for successful lives.  20 of these assets are "external" meaning they require action on the part of other people for their development.  20 are "internal" meaning youth need to be taught how to build them for themselves.  It is up to us, our neighborhoods, families, schools, business and faith communities, and governments to help children succeed.We are here to teach Texas about assets for youth (assets4youth, or a4y) and what they can do to build assets in the young people they encounter every day.  We are also here to help young people understand the need for these assets and teach them ways they can build assets for themselves and their peers.

Joining forces with an existing organization to add developmental asset-building for youth to their existing services.  (www.search-institute.org for asset-building info).  Have campaign designed but no marketing materials. Have website hosting w/wordpress extensions but nothing built yet. Have a blog at assets4youth.wordpress.com but few followers. No logo or brand yet. Pre-campaign to launch in March of 2013 - campaign itself to begin airing fall 2013.  Coverage to include all Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties, Texas (plus additional coverage through radio and television stations airing the PSAs). Also includes weekly newspaper spread, poster contest, video contest, radio & tv PSAs, newletters, yearly youth summit (currently about 1000 youth served) and fair, yearly awards banquet fundraiser, smaller fundraisers, 12+ youth organizations at different sites, traveling events to sites, lollipop give-aways, and more... Just need that perfect logo and branding to make it all pop.  This is one of three major initiatives the organization will be running.  One is already in full swing, this and the third - resources4nonprofits, will begin next Spring, so we need to be ready by then.
