We support young people and their families where running away or being thrown out of home is an issue. Dorset is a beautiful rural county but the young people that we support are regularly away from home and face issues more associated with urban deprivation. They are at risk of abuse, victimisation, exploitation and becoming homeless.

PR and Social media support sought

Description

Our objective is to inspire young people to take up careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through the provision of high quality work related learning programmes.  The EDT organises and delivers several programmes nationally via a regional network. The EDT is a national provider of STEM outreach for UK youth.  We deliver quality schemes but don't have the know how to "shout about our successes".  We need help around PR/media.Ideally someone experienced in writing press releases and who has contacts with the media.  Our office is based in Salford although we cover the North of England which includes Cumbria, the North West, Yourkshire and the North East.  It may be that there are volunteers who can cover part of this region but not the whole geographical "north".Indirectly, this is a great opportunity to inspire young people into the right career path.  There is an imense amount of satisfaction in seeing how a team of young people progress over their projects and seeing how they have developed their project.  Helping us to raise our profile so even more young people can take part in the future too.
