Can you visualise the importance of drawing?

Description

Are you a graphic designer? Illustrator? Or just someone who likes to draw?If so, chances are that you will be passionate about seeing, deconstructing and representing the world visually. We are looking for people who can communicate this passion and capture it in an image. The image can be anything from an infographic or a quote to an illustration or even an interactive animation. The only requirement is that it should answer one of these two questions:- Why should we draw? - What is visual literacy? At the Campaign for Drawing, we are (as the name suggests) passionate about drawing. We are the pioneering arts education charity behind The Big Draw and we are dedicated to raising the profile of drawing and visual literacy as a tool for thought, creativity, and social and cultural engagement. We believe that by drawing the world around us, we are forced to stop and observe it fully. By looking intensely at texture, shape, colour and more we gain a deeper understanding of what we see.Help us promote the importance of drawingWe are looking for creative people to visually represent the importance of drawing and visual literacy. The best examples will be shared with our large audiences via mailings, social media and www.thebigdraw.org and used to support our work promoting drawing and visual literacy. Check out this video featuring our patron Andrew Marr for ideas.Any help you can offer, whether producing one work or many would make a huge difference to our cause! Importantly, we also hope that this project will be fun, and give you an opportunity to showcase your creativity!Who your image will reachWe may be small but have an international following. Our flagship international drawing festival, The Big Draw, comprises of over 1800 events in 25 countries. Each October, it brings 100'000s together to draw and has continued to grow over its 15 year history. Thanks to The Big Draw and our other drawing activities, we have a very engaged audience on Facebook and Twitter. On Twitter alone we have posted some of the most popular tweets on UK or worldwide trends. Our #Museumselfie tweet has been retweeted over 770 times. So, if your content is successful (and we will always credit you) this could be a great opportunity for exposure and association with The Campaign for Drawing and The Big Draw brands.Interested? We look forward to hearing from you!
