Mission

ALL FM works with the long term unemployed, those with mild learning disabilities and mental health problems, with young people and older people to help them develop soft skills that will build their confidence and self esteem and help them get into work, training or education. Many of our volunteers have gone onto further education, jobs and/or placements with other media providers (BBC, ITV).

Additional Information

ALL FM is a community radio station based in South Manchester. It broadcasts the news, views and music of the community, by the community. ALL FM has been operation for over 10 years and exists to serve disadvantaged communities in South, East and Central Manchester. The station broadcasts 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and 99% of the presenters are volunteers. Like most voluntary sector organisations our funding streams have been cut and the recession has bitten us hard. We are looking for help to draw up a business plan with the aim of developing funding streams and marketing our services.

two logos

Description

Hello thereMy name is Molly Mathieson and I need someone to design two logo's. My chairty is called New Note and it builds big musical projects to help socially excluded people. Our first project is The Veterans Orchestra and will probably be based in London.By playing in an orchestra setting our participants gain huge support from their peers. They learn musical skills, gain confidence and self esteem. We create pathways for our participants to increase life skills and employment. The inspiration for the charity came from a TV show I created called The Addicts Symphony, where 10 participants were recovering from drugs and alcohol. They worked together to put on a concert with the London Symphony Orchestra. It transformed their lives. 80% of the participants stayed clean and sober. It had huge outcomes. We intend to use this formula for others who are socially excluded. For our first project we will encourage and mentor veterans who have returned from conflict and finding it hard to adjust to civilian life. We will actively work with people who have issues surrounding homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions, ptsd and unemployment. We will adopt an open door policy, anyone can join regardless of musical ability and we actively encourage all sorts of musical tastes. We would want to teach and play a range of music from classical to pop to hip hop etc etc.The participants will be expected to attend regular rehearsals with a full musical structure. Initially we will put on at least 4-6 concerts a year for the general public. The musical structure gives everyone a real focus and purpose. It builds up the orchestra 'community'We intend to roll the orchestra model out as a way of tackling some of societies problems. Our next orchestra will be a recovery orchestra, to help people with substance misuse issues based in Brighton.
