Mission

The charity works overseas in Sierra Leone (West Africa) with the same objectives, policies, and procedures as in the UK and follows all guidance and legal requirements within Sierra Leone to support and provide respectful, accessible, free and quality cancer care to our beneficences. Our aim is to bridge the care gap, relief sickness and preserve health amongst vulnerable and underprivileged people suffering from cancer in deprived London (England) communities and Sierra Leone (West Africa) Cancer UK-SALONE – We are a non-profit charity who strives to bridge the care gap in cancer care in both UK and Sierra Leone. We signpost patients to services, fund diagnostics, treatment and palliative care including medication and nutrition for underprivileged patient. We provide information, counselling for patients and their families. The charity will provide respite care through volunteers who are trained and safely vetted to meet all legal requirements. Our Volunteers will be experience in health and social care industry providing palliative care depending on the needs and capacity such as prompting and assisting with care, treatment and or according to the patient’s care plan. The charity also works overseas in Sierra Leone (West Africa) with the same objectives, policies, and procedures as in the UK and follow all guidance and legal requirements within Sierra Leone to provide support to patients with no access to cancer care, support and treatment. Our services (Prevention, diagnostics, support care and treatment) are virtually nonexistence in most part of the Sierra Leone. The Charity will work alongside other local partners and volunteers to educate, raise awareness, signpost, give psychosocial support and provide community capacity building and sensitization around cancer in local communities. Capacity building in cancer to healthcare workers, lifestyle changes in schools and institutions to reduce their risks and support to finance diagnostics, treatment and palliative care directly from suppliers but there will be no or minimal financial transaction between the charity and its beneficiaries.

The Charity carries out its purpose with the best interest of the community at heart. The trustees will ensure our daily activities are in line with our objects/purpose for the benefit of the community and reflects our governance policies and procedures. The charity practice minimal or no financial transaction between the charity and its beneficiaries but outsource needs to service providers. Our Trustees work with the charity’s constitution and governing documents to ensure the charity’s objects are met in line with demands, targeting and serving the intended beneficiaries. Our Trustees monitor these objectives, purposes and have regular meetings, assess, review through client feedback to ensure quality assurance and improvement of our services. Our Trustee are mandated to ensure our services are standardized, delivered in a respectful, equitable and transparent manner whilst maintain quality of care to our beneficiaries.
