http://www.friendsoftheconnection.org.ukThe Friends of the Connection is an independent charity, run by volunteers, dedicated to supporting the work of The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields in tackling homelessness in central London. In the UK, homelessness is at its highest in Westminster, and this is where The Connection has been working for over 100 years. We believe that noone should be sleeping on the streets of London, which is why we are supporting them to get people into housing and to find a place to call home.
Poverty Alleviation
The Friends has around 500 members, and raises between £300,000 and £500,000 a year to support The Connection, depending on the level of legacies received. We produce and circulate a hard copy newsletter, Friends News, 3 times a year to our members. Apart from our paid part-time Administrator, our work is dependent entirely on volunteers.
Friends News is an 8-page A5 hard copy booklet, which we publish 3 times a year for our members. We need a graphic designer to design and layout the booklet, and produce print-ready artwork. Publication is in May, August and November. The copy is collated and edited by the Chair of the Friends.
