Our curriculum aims to educate people in Human Rights, Gender Equality, Conflict Transformation and UN-SDGs encouraging more liberal and democratic societies. Our goal is simple. WYK Empower strives to equip young people, women and children with safeguarding information and knowledge that can be passed on to the community. Those most vulnerable should understand what is happening around the world, gaining valid and practical skills in the process. All while finding ways they can change their journey and help others in a safer, peaceful and sustainable way. Creating a viral effect of sowing the seeds of change throughout the world. Human rights, gender equality, democracy and conflict transformation are amongst our focused topics. Here at WYK Empower Initiative, we want to disengage the vulnerable away from acts of violence and abuse. We want to help them improve their lives through education and direct them on the right path.
Education and Skills
Our educational program is delivered specifically to the community in question. We strive to be as inclusive as possible. And that is why our courses are taught in their language and tailored to topics that may impact them. We believe in peace, human rights, diversity, equality and a conflict-free world for all and believe that the only way to achieve this in all its forms is through education first. The seeds we sow are here to provide support for all our beneficiaries, from the earliest stages to the conclusions. We want to help our team and students become future agents of positive change within their society, both nationally and internationally. By contributing to their research journal, our students can implement their ideas into a feasible plan and help within both their local community and wider. WYK works with schools, NGOs, UN Organizations and other partners both in the UK and in Jerusalem to pursue its initiatives for women, youth and kids. We provide specialized courses, helping women and youth to get involved in research within their subject areas, contributing to a research journal to help them develop and implement their ideas. Our aim is to help them operationalize any one or more of the SDGs within their communities, nationally and internationally. We have a three phase process we engage students in capacity building helping them also develop ideas to resolve community problems, phase two allows students to research the feasibility of their ideas and phase three allows students to build the skills and setup their projects into real life projects or organization. Alternatively, those who just want to work in the sector will be supported with employability skills and be placed with us or a partner organization to gain experience.
We need support in building awareness of our programs through social media, help with improving our website and help with building community awareness for our initiative. In addition we need help in attracting donors and bringing in funding.
