We have created ACEF, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to help provide electricity as a basic human right to formal and informal communities in a more sustainable way. We work to obtain support to increase energy access with environmentally conscious and affordable projects for low-income communities in developing countries and communities recovering from natural disasters. In addition, our programs promote the transition to a more sustainable energy future by advancing the use of green building design practices, energy efficiency products and renewable energy sources. Our objective is to lessen the energy equity gap. We use donations and contributions to implement programs designed to help informal and formal communities without access to the utility grid obtain access to clean and reliable power sources. We provide technical assistance to help communities help themselves by training them how to install and operate more energy efficient products and make their homes, clinics, schools, and community facilities more energy efficient. We work with communities to install affordable solar systems and provide technical assistance in solar system design, installation and maintenance; as well as HVAC system installation and maintenance.
