Mission

Jubilee Scotland is a charity organisation that campaigns for the cancellation of unjust and unpayable debts that lead to poverty and suffering and threaten environmental sustainability. We envision a world where countries are free from unjust debt and oppressive financial systems and can autonomously invest in citizen- and community-determined needs as they see fit. Jubilee Scotland engages in advocacy work towards politicians and financial institutions, conducts research and prepares briefs, and organises programmes to catalyse institutional change addressing the root causes of debt injustices. Founded as a continuation of the Jubilee 2000 coalition, we have been advocating for the alleviation of unjust debt for more than 20 years. We tackle debt injustices in Scotland, the UK, and across the globe.
