Experience

I have extensive experience of working on a range of marketing projects, predominantly in the charity sector.   I am currently Marketing Manager for a UK based end of life care charity. I am responsible for devising and implementing marketing strategies across a variety of areas including national conferences, national fundraising events and clinical and policy work. Online and offline tactics used including design, print, film, social media, awareness weeks, advertising and reciprocal marketing.     Other areas of output include: Co-ordinated the first ever collaborative marketing campaign for hospice care - Hospice Care Week; developed visuals, commissioned a campaign microsite and developed key messages. Produced brand guidelines that were flexible enough for our members to amalgamate with their own individual brands. All marketing KPI’s for the campaign were exceeded.   Lead testing of ‘public perceptions’ of hospice care via national market research; I analyse and interpret results which consequently influence policy and media strategies. Underpinning this research I also set  key measurements for all campaigns, ensuring robust reports are created and communicated to key stakeholders.   Preceding this, for some years I was Marketing Manager for Cheltenham Festivals, an internationally renowned arts charity; responsible for devising and implementing marketing strategies accountable for challenging box office targets. It was vital that I was creative and strategic in approach, reaching varied audiences was paramount to success. Other top line responsibilities included:   Co-ordination of web, press, digital and membership functions; feeding into the over-arching marketing strategies.  Introduced online & offline market research techniques to allow for better profiling and targeting of our customer base. Managed relationships with key suppliers including design agencies, print houses, mailing houses & ticketing agencies. Negotiated in-kind deals and retainer contracts in many of these areas making considerable cost savings.   Oversaw the rebranding of the organisation- taking the separate identities of the four festivals and bringing together under the Cheltenham Festivals umbrella.   Produced award winning design and print production of Science and Literature Festivals.   Introduced email marketing, social media, video content and below the line advertising techniques into marcomms portfolio. Worked closely with Sponsorship & Development team to ensure the marketing & business objectives of key sponsors & funders were met. These included The Times (News International), the wellcome trust, SkyArts, Nesta, Carte Noire and many more high profile brands.
