Mission

90% of the world's blind people live in low income regions in Africa, Asia and South America.  And 80% of blindness is avoidable (i.e. preventable or treatable). We fund vital medical research into eye diseases that are common in developing countries, and we provide advanced training for eye care professionals from developing countries so that they can do more to prevent or treat blindness in their region.

Additional Information

We're a UK-based charity that focuses all its efforts on tackling blindness in Developing Countries. We do this by tackling critical global issues that generally lack funding from other sources - developing new treatments for 'neglected diseases' that cause widespread blindness, and enhancing local skills levels for improving eye health.
