Mission

Many people are asking each other questions like these: What can we do to support each other in the midst of crisis? What can we do to change our approach to consumption? What can we do to meet the challenges of the world? How can I have a positive impact on the planet? Aren’t we all doomed at this point? We’re fundraising to create a Buddhist community that nurtures a resource and events centre on 70 acres of land—supporting the practical exploration of how we build sustainable, connected local economies and communities through ecological restoration, incubating social innovation, courses and more. We’ll also continue to run our successful events and enterprises, including Buddhafield Festival and Buddhafield Cafe. Buddhafield Base will inspire change, connection and simplicity to support the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants. It is a radical approach to living a shared commitment to addressing the essential causes of our present crises. It will create opportunities for meaningful work, creativity and imagination, community, and care for land and ecology through a sense of place, purpose and belonging. Rooted in Buddhism, the Buddhafield Base project is committed to offering skills and experiences to groups and individuals who want to explore answers to the questions that are most important to them.
