Mission

Bank.Green is a small nonprofit with a big goal: to decarbonise the banking sector by mobilising the public to raise awareness of and challenge its role as the number one financier of fossil fuels. We develop user-friendly, open-source tools that empower anyone to understand the climate impact of their banking choices and switch to greener alternatives that do not invest in coal, oil or gas. By aggregating our economic power in this way, we send a clear message to financial institutions: to make the rapid shift to renewable energy financing that the climate crisis demands. With enough public pressure, we believe we can push banks to align their lending activities with what climate science requires, starting today.
