Action Tutoring is a registered charity seeking to support pupils in inner city schools preparing for GCSEs in English and Maths, to ensure they leave school with 5 A-C GCSEs including English and Maths, to increase their chances of going on to further education, employment or training. Action Tutoring launched in Spring 2011 and has since grown rapidly, from an initial pilot programme with 2 schools to now working with 30 schools in London and launching in Manchester. Volunteer tutors work with pupils for an hour a week, for an 8 week programme.

Description

This flexible opportunity is ideal for someone with an interest in families and children support charities and a professional background in fundraising or business development. 1) The RoleResearch potential public funders, grant makers and foundations.Develop links with private sector businesses to gain support in kind or financial.Help define what we do in the context of funding application to demonstrate the need.Write passionately and succinctly, making the case for the outcomes we achieve.Support our team to make best use of our case studies, quotes and data and interpret local and national policies to support funding proposals for individual projects. 2) Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceBusiness and Management studies, fundraising or business development experience. Excellent English written and verbal  communicationExperience in proposal and letter writingAbility to analysis data, research and identify potential funding opportunitiesKnowledge of relationship and business development, fundraising and the charity sectorMarketing knowledge desirable 3) Role Details and BenefitsDuration: Flexible 1-2 days per week, with the option of working from home.
