Additional Information

Fundación Chimbilako is a non-governmental organization developed to lead biodiversity conservation in Colombia. It was created in 2004 by a group of students and professionals interested in the study and conservation of Colombian bats. This animals play an important role in many ecosystems around Colombia. They act as pollinators, pest controllers, seed dispersers and reforesters. Due to their importance,  we had coordinated courses, seminars and symposiums for biologists from Colombia and other parts of South America, to come together and discuss the many issues surrounding bat conservation. We are part of the Latin American Network for Bat Conservation (RELCOM) an important group that works to get common conservation strategies all around Latin America.
