Sickle cell anaemia is one of the most common inherited blood anaemia’s; the disease primarily affects mainly African-Caribbean’s, Asians and parts of the Mediterranean. Sickle cell is a chronic illness that is treatable yet not curable, thus needs management for long periods, and therefore, the burden of care are placed on the families that have children living with the condition.
