Additional Information

Who Are We Gmax Trackstar Academy was founded in 2010 by Mark Lancaster a Senior Track & Field performance Coach who in the last 15 years been proactively working within South London boroughs delivering sports workshops for young people to harness the power of sport to promote social change (and celebrate sporting excellence). Gmax importantly need support to raise funds to provide financial and practical support for the projects which use the power of sport to provide coaching and education to young people in some of the most challenging or deprived environments around south London. At the beginning of the Gmax journey, it was clear that sport’s capacity to promote respect and teamwork would help bring young people together on the track and also proven capable of tackling problems that go to the very core of society itself. London Olympic Legacy The Gmax “Playground to Podium” program will lead the growth and application of strategies for participation in sport in with the development High Street outlet making athletics accessible as a branded product to young people to compete with Mcdonalds, which fits the Gmax vision of insistence upon excellence in outcome when participating The critical elements in the successful development of young athletes are: opportunity, participation, talent identification, education, skill development, coaching, family and volunteer support, requiring a high level unlimited commitment, the allocation of the necessary resources, good management and hard work. All of this is critical if our young athletes are to enjoy success.   An accentuate analysis confirms the vital need for an integrated structure that would allow athletes to pass seamlessly through this development pathway and talent identification programs. Gmax Academy creates opportunities for those talented and those who were previously disadvantaged without access will be supported to get them to the next stage prepared for competition and winning medals. At this stage, what appears to be missing most, are appropriate facilities and holistic support to athletes, and providing a stable and predictable environment, as well as creating access to the media, will all support in producing a more conducive environment for our young people to perform better. The Gmax challenge is to maximize resources and develop the skills necessary to help Team Gmax perform. This includes further synergies between Government in regards to recognition of needs and talent development funding support to bridge skills gaps in administration, coaching, PR and media relations. Strategic Intent To cultivate talented athletes through the provision of excellence in sport science, coaching and medical facilities and to deliver training opportunities to athletes, coaches, administrators and technical staff in line with a coordinated national plan.
