Additional Information

We are a social enterprise delivering learning and development programmes for anyone working for social purpose. We provide programmes in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Social Impact Measurement for people and organisations at any stage in their development. We work with young people in or out of education, entrepreneurial start-ups, as well as the staff, chief executives and board members of emerging and mature organisations. A recent Government review led by Dame Mary Marsh cited 8 ways that the social enterprise and charity sector could improve. It pointed to better leadership, career paths from school, skills sharing, enterprise capability, and collaboration. We do all of these things and more. We are based in Scotland, but we are also growing, with new Academy hubs in South Africa and Australia.

Branding for social enterprise café

Description

Wave is setting up a creative space and café in Muswell Hill offering an inclusive space for people with and without learning disabilities to socialise and enjoy creative activities and events in the evening. We’ve been working on Wave Cafe’s brand proposition and identity. Now we need someone to take it further and work on our brand name, visuals - including logo and messaging.Wave is a charitable organisation established in 2009 to create opportunities for people with and without learning disabilities to comfortably mix, socialise and work together as equals. We are trying to change attitudes towards learning disabilities (LD) to break down the attitudinal and practical barriers that can result in people with LD being marginalised. Our focus is on mutual transformation - changing the attitudes and experience of those without disabilities (i.e. the root cause of exclusion) being as important as building the integration and self-esteem of those with learning disabilities.Wave provides places and events where people with and without learning disabilities can comfortably socialise and work together. In order to see our inclusive ethos more widely recognised and adopted, we need higher visibility in, and connection with, our broader community. We plan to achieve this aim through establishing a creative space and café (working title) in Muswell Hill.Wave creative space and cafe’s has a unique concept and business model. Wave Cafe will host creative and art events in the evening, such as live music, art exhibitions, guest speakers, etc. Wave Cafe will also be a social enterprise, which means that not only all profits will be re-invested in support of Wave’s mission, but Wave Cafe will also provide work opportunities, including for those with learning disabilities.
