Mission

Recruit a new body of volunteer drivers, preferably in the 50 to 65 age bracket, who are able to offer continuing support to the charity in the coming years.  We have had an article in the local press as well as advertisements, to little success.  We have received lottery funding to help in our cause and some professional assistance will be of great benefit to ensure we use the money wisely and achieve our aim of more drivers.

Additional Information

Christian Helpline in Newlyn is a voluntary organisation set in the village of Newlyn, near Penzance in the West of Cornwall.  CHIN has been established for over 25 years, and has been put forward for the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.  The charity has no paid staff, but over 60 volunteers who provide transport for older and vulnerable people to hospital and other medical appointments, as well as befriending. The past few years has seen a significant rise in demand for the services of the charity, coupled with, however, a decline in the number of volunteers.
