Additional Information

People who have had heart attacks may go through a prevention and rehabilitation stage after surgical intervention. The completion of such a stage can mean that the patient concerned can then be discharged. They will have been given a good deal of guidance during the recovery process about things such as diet, weight, alcohol intake, exercise, stress management, etc. The "rules" are clear. This is supplemented by activities of organisations such as the British Heart Foundation; by fairly extensive media coverage and by particular individuals who may believe that Patients themselves may benefit from meeting others with similar health experiences. The detail is being developed now and we have a nucleus of ex-patients who are interested. We now need to articulate what we are about, develop an identity, create a web site, etc. This could suit a more mature marketeer who themselves have suffered an incident involving surgical intervention. And preferably someone in West London (we organise meetings in Charing Cross Hospital). We are connected with the NHS as our source for new members, but are quite separate. We anticipate becoming BHF affiliated.
