Oxford
http://www.thehogroast.orgThe Hog Roast strives to be as environmentally friendly as possible. All the energy we use is from our onsite wind turbine, all our food is as local and organic as possible (much of it is grown on site) and we try to minimise waste, and compost all our food waste. We want to create a vibrant and eco friendly community space- a "social space for social change"- thereby encouraging more people to engage with the environment and issues surrounding climate change.
Environment
The Hog Roast is a social enterprise eco-vegetarian cafe opened in June 2013. It aims to serve local, seasonal food, and use food that might otherwise go to waste. All profits generated from the cafe go towards supporting talks, workshops and skillshares, all with an environmental focus, supporting the eco-park in which the cafe in situated (hogacrecommon.org.uk) and supporting Oxford's community garden, Oxgrow.
