Mission

EduKit is an online platform that will match students from disadvantaged backgrounds with programmes run by charities that are best able to meet their needs. These programmes can be academic, such as extra help with Maths and Literacy or non-academic such as theatre groups, sports clubs, youth radio stations run by experts who can help with behavioural problems. EduKit will: - evaluate students based on their academic and non-academic needs - match students with agencies best able to help with their personal development - track and evaluate results - provide data to schools to allow better decision-making Here is a brief demo to explain how it works: http://youtu.be/kbo1b1fBTqM

Additional Information

We are trying to do something truly innovative within Education in the UK. EduKit is unique as currently there is no directory available to schools to identify of all the various support services available for students. Today, staff at schools need to carry out online research to find suitable programmes for students, which can be very time consuming and doesn’t allow the school to understand the quality of services. Furthermore, as EduKit will track and evaluate student improvement across different types of intervention it will offer a tangible way of evaluating and comparing programmes which will allow schools to make better decisions in future about how to spend their budgets to maximise outcomes for students. We have statements from schools expressing their frustrations in finding services and the need for a tool like EduKit.
