Mission
Family Mediation Cymru (previously Family Mediation Cardiff) has been providing low cost and legally aided mediation in South Wales for 40 years.
Family mediation is a process in which an impartial mediator helps people who are divorced or separating to make decisions about their children, money and property. A trained mediator has a neutral role in helping couples to negotiate an agreement.
Mediation is a unique process and does not involve counselling or therapy. The mediator doesn't make any decisions and no legal advice is given. We do help couples reach legally binding settlements if that's what they want.
At F.M. Cymru we feel that children's voices are often left out of the discussions about the arrangements that are made for them. We encourage parents to put their children's voices at the centre of their decision making.

Additional Information
Our website has been going for many many years, and looks tired and out of date! We are a small team of mediators and client coordinators. We have been doing this a long time.
We are not looking for more clients, as we are at capacity, but we want our website to better reflect what we do and to give more information to clients before they come to us, and throughout their divorce/ separation. Many clients come to us desperate for information, unable to afford solicitors and with nowhere to go to get reliable information.
We feel that if we had additional functionality on our website (ie clients being able to sign consent forms, agreements to mediate etc) it would save them a lot of time, and would take a huge burden off our admin team.
We also work with children whose parents are separating, to try and give them a voice in the mediation process. Would be great if there could be sections on our website for primary aged children and young adults so they can find out more about what we do.
