Mission

Since 2005 we have employed over 780 ex-offenders around the country in various contracts. Of these, 45% have moved into full-time onward employment after completing their contracts with us and nearly 50% have received at least one accrediation. Crucially, only 15% have gone on to re-offend - that's a quarter of the national average. Blue Sky Inside currently operates in two prisons - a women's high security prison in west London and a men's prison in Surrey. Since March 2012 we have worked with 85 prisoners and we have supported approximately 40% of the leavers into a job on release.

Additional Information

Blue Sky was established in 2005 as a charity and social enterprise to reduce re-offending and challenge negative perceptions about people with a criminal record. To achieve this we win commercial contracts in a variety of sectors and offer the resulting entry-level jobs solely to ex-offender on 6-month contracts. Whilst with us we offer our employees a tailored package of resettlement support comprised of training, housing assistance and a jobs brokering service.  To compliment this we created Blue Sky Inside in 2012; an initiative where we could provide employment and training opportunities to prisoners whilst they're still serving their sentences and then continue to support them on release.
