The Oxjam Takeovers are multi-venue music fesitivals organised to raise money for Oxfam in its fight against poverty (specifically, through political campaigns, international development and disaster relief). They are organised by teams of volunteers working together in locations across the UK. This year, with over 60 locations expected to host Takeover events, we are aiming to raise over £270,000 for Oxfam. The 2014 Oxjam Bristol Takeover will involve a series of fundraising events through the summer. We intend to make these as innovative and inclusive as possible. They will culminate in a vibrant multi-venue music festival in October. Given the wide range of creative events that occur in Bristol, we are exploring all manner of possible side acts to make sure the occasion stands out.
