Mission
Cyclists Fighting Cancer is a national children's cancer charity. We support children to get active during their treatment and into rehabilitation by providing them with new lightweight bikes, specially adapted trikes, cycling related equipment and support.
2,400 children and young people (up to the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK and we are passionate about helping families through this very difficult journey.
Exercise and activity has been shown in numerous scientific studies to be the single most effective way of improving both physical and mental wellness for people surviving cancer. Cycling is a brilliant activity for children as it has so many benefits; low impact, improves cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength, encourage coordination, and promotes maintenance of healthy weight and mind. It can reduce the impact of some of the side effects of treatment, whilst promoting independence, peer support and self-confidence.
