The Ethical Property Foundation is a registered charity, launched in 2004. After 5 years in development, this autumn we are launching a unique ethical workplace standard which recognises commitment to people and planet as well as profit. We have worked in partnership with a range of leading organisations, and the scheme has been successfully piloted.  The change we seek is for commercial property companies, property developers, office owners and tenants to understand and compute in the very tissues of their corporate soul, that there are business benefits if workplaces deliver instead, a triple bottom line: counting the environment, people - both staff and the local community outside - as well as the financial bottom line.  We see big advantages for early adopters in terms of brand differentiation, retaining and attracting good staff, for corporate social responsibility /media and shareholder profile as well cutting voids and building tenant loyalty.     Our award logo and name have been trademarked and the website is in development. Fees will be based on numbers of people (FTE) in the workplace. Success will be measured in how many awards we can sell.  All profits will help us to continue giving free affordable quality advice to charities - 2500 to date. We need your chutzpah and canny know-how to create and communicate a new need to the commercial property sector as well as across business – at a time when parts of the UK property market are booming, but against the backdrop of an increasingly complex global economic picture.  We want you to help is break the behaviour that says the single bottom line is the only affordable option.  As times become more challenging – so we all need each other more.
